before the academic bathing

I just have to write this matter that has been appearing like a sudden thought bubble. Anyway, why do we need to adjust in a situation when foreigners join our classes? Why does the college, even the student council, make positions that would only show the diverted notion of Filipino hospitality? Is there really a need to uplift the feelings of other Asian students for them to deal with our so-called “exotic” culture. Come on! Students as key players of the academe should have the prerogatives of adjustments. Studying in the premiere university of the country, these foreigners should be the ones to adapt the situation - even up to the point of learning Filipino as a language. Yeah, it’s given that all of the people in UP can converse in English but not for the other party. UP students are required to speak (not in their native tongues) in English for the benefit of those Special Students but it really does not work out fine. Why? It’s still hard to understand whether they are already speaking in English or the other way around. If I may see the situation, I think this leads to an open journey of ethnocentrism, that once, we as Filipinos stand proud that even though we dwell in this ambivalent idea of hospitality - we adjust for others with heads up!

Now let me kick this day off with a blast! (Finish Comm 191 things first!) Cool
